Airport code guide

DCA, IAD or BWI around Washington?

A Washington-area flight may be shown with DCA, IAD or BWI. Those codes refer to separate airports: Ronald Reagan Washington National, Washington Dulles and Baltimore/Washington International. BWI carries Baltimore in its name; it should not be quietly treated as another DCA terminal.

Choose by the code on your ticket

Match the three-letter code on your itinerary before reading an airport board. DCA opens the Reagan National record, IAD opens Dulles and BWI opens Baltimore/Washington. A city-only travel search is insufficient when planning a pickup or a connection between flights.

Published airport records

Each record below describes a dated window of flights seen by FlyGamma. Use the separate board links for a current request.

Checking a connection or pickup

If your arrival is at BWI and your next flight says IAD or DCA, you have two different airport codes. Check the operating airline's current status and its connection terms; FlyGamma's dated airport records cannot judge whether the transfer is possible or included in a ticket.

What FlyGamma can and cannot confirm

The linked airport records are observations from the published archive window, not a timetable. The live-board buttons ask for a limited current window when pressed; an empty answer does not prove no flight operates today. For a particular journey, search the flight number and confirm the result with the operating airline or airport. See what the feed can see.

Need to verify a three-letter code independently? Use IATA’s official airport-code search. For travel decisions, the current airline booking is the authority.
